Who is Ace King?
Everybody has a story. Thankfully mine's brief.
This is me in 1996, wearing a corporate costume and posing with my beloved '72 240z. When I was 9 years old I saw my first Z and was awestruck. It looked like a cross between a race car and a rocket. I wanted one very, very badly. I was born in 1961 and grew up in Southern California, home of the car culture. My dad was a hot rodder long before I was born. As a kid I learned how cars worked and how to fix things, and most of all, how to modify them. I love anything with wheels and a motor... except for a vacuum. I'm a resident of Arvada, Colorado, and married to a beautiful and talented graphic artist named Kristi. I typically work as a CAD drafter, but have also been a mechanical designer, a technical writer, and a trade show manager for a company that made embroidery machines. In between regular jobs I worked in the service department at a Harley-Davidson dealership and part-time in the electrical aisles at a local Home Depot. My very first job was hawking popcorn and peanuts for the California Angels. I also write screenplays. I might never sell one but it's a fun hobby. Do you have a Hollywood connection? Let's talk percentages. I have the adventure gene. I've skydived several times, flew aerobatics in a biplane, travelled around Europe with a backpack and a rail pass, parasailed in Mexico, ridden dirt bikes in the Mojave Desert, scuba dived at night near Catalina Island, camped atop Half Dome in Yosemite, and even hiked thru a blizzard in the Rocky Mountains.
Enough shameless self-promotion. I need to get back to the garage. Cheers!
